Roxy Piccirillo
When I moved to the U.S. from Argentina more than 20 years ago, I was not sure how I would restart my medical career. After working several years in the clinical research aren, while maintaining my young family, my heart wanted to expand into a new field and make waves in modeling and acting. I hope to expand the view of a modeling career beyond age, size, ethnicity, and looks while keeping my roots intact.

As a little girl in my parents one bedroom home in Argentina, the most magical spot in the house was the mirror in front of my mother’s dresser where I would steal her clothes and transform into a star. Without knowledge of the modeling world, the passion for fashion was something powerful for me growing up. Despite my hopes, when my father passed my world shifted and I felt the weight of continuing his legacy as a medical professional.
At 17, rather than dancing the night away at parties, I studied hard and barring all my struggles I persevered and with time became an amazing doctor, wife, mother, and woman. With my amazing husband we moved to the United States for a better future for us and our two lovely daughters. Now, after a successful career and with my family’s support, I have taken back my dreams and became a working model.
Fashion and modeling always brought me to a whole new world, after a long day of working in medicine it became my meditation to read fashion magazines. When I finally got into modeling it was an incredibly, surreal sensation because it allows me to step into that joyful world that once was a fantasy. When working with a team, it’s not always about the product but rather embodying the energy and passion of their art.
Unconsciously, we all hold dreams that may get placed on hold throughout life. My passion came back to me through hard work and I am incredibly grateful for what this path has taught me. Being an ageless model, I promote inclusivity and challenge fashion industry standards by bringing a new perspective to each project. In the modeling world versatility is a requirement, from high-fashion to commercial shoots, I’m open to continuously expand collaborations, get guidance along the way, and grow with the community. I’m living proof that there is no right way to go through life and that it’s never too late to follow your dreams.
